Gratitude

I am still adjusting with the life of being independent, away from my family, and away from the place I was raised. I never thought of living on my own with this half a year time. I have been deciding on my own. whew.. I can't believe what I become right now. I am practicing my professional life as an engineer.

As always, I find it hard to communicate with the people around me. Though I understand the language, I still find it hard to translate what to put into words before I answer. I'm lagging. But, it was never a hindrance for me to befriend others. Thanks to my colleagues who are amicable.

I am thankful to those people who believe in me.

Most of all, thanks be to God who put this experience as part of my life story. I don't know what lies ahead, but I'm sure I am safe in hands.

aeRO gaming

High Priest, aeRO

This weekend, I feel bored staying in our apartment. I do not have anything to do except browsing the laptop I brought. But the laptop does not have any application or games installed to get rid of my boredom. Consequently, I went to an internet station and search for internet games. Browsing it enabled me to see the online game I played during college, the Ragnarok Online.

RO was one of my favorite internet games back in college. I played it for more than six months that it feels like much an addiction. Most of our vacant periods were spent playing this game with my friends in our first job: Gregg [Archer] (who introduced this game to us), Aevrard [Mage] (continues to play until now) , Leica [Archer & Merchant], and Challin [Thief] (stopped playing because 'fine grit' is hard to find /heh). And I used to be an Acolyte. Those were our salad-days spent playing for another world, the world of Ragnarok. It was really fun playing.

aeRO is an RO game maintained by a foreign country. Here, I don’t have to spend for cards to play the RO game anymore. And so, I made a High Priest character that took me eight hours (sum of my playing hours for two days). A High Priest is a supportive character and that’s what I like most being in a party.

The memories I have of the game ostensibly coming back. And it is worth reminiscing.

Longing

It is back again. I am nostalgic.
How I wish to be back in our place there in Iloilo. I am truly missing my kin, longing to see their faces and to hear their voices. I just want to go home but not now. I have to prove myself first in my workplace. And that will be soon, after three months time. I hope I can do it. Help me Lord.

A Place to Grow

At last, we are now settling in our one-year agreement (for now) apartment here in Villa Apolonia that is situated in close proximity to the town of Dasmarinas, Cavite. Prior to this, we stayed in the Staff House provided by the company for about two months and a half for us employees who came from the province.

We just moved in yesterday. It was a tedious work to move our things once again. And as long as we will be a regular employee (I pray we will be) of the company, we’ll stay here for a year for sure, which means less work to move again.

This is a new environment so I have to adjust with the people around us, especially with our neighbors; and still, language is a matter for adjustment for me. Finally, I am looking forward to find this place better to grow wholly while I am far away from home.

Weekend Adventure

Imagine the calmness of the evening where you can only hear the sound of crickets and can feel the cool breeze of air. I thought that time I will have a refreshing weekend, spending it with Marlou and his sister in her home at Brentville, Laguna.

Marlou's Kin. Marlou's family is well accommodating. During my stay with them, they made me feel very much like at home .

Trips. I enjoyed the travels we had going to Manila. We had side trips to the lobby of the Ocean's Park and a sight of boat rowing at the Manila Bay. The next day was our almost trip to the Splash Islands. As we reached their parking area, we decided not to go swimming there because we will only spend little time there and we'll pay much for the entrance fee. We also went to Tagaytay to play bowling. However, the bowling alley was no longer available and was turned into 'UK' stores. But, I still had a great time. Once again, I had a glimpse of the picturesque Taal Volcano at a distance. What I hope someday is to see its main crater with my own eyes.

Foods. We ate sumptuous foods each meal. 'Manang Nene' and Marlou confessed their cravings for seafoods that's why it is always present. And I am always stuffed.

Activities. There were times when we got in physical. We played lawn tennis early Saturday morning. It was so funny that when we served the ball, it fell off outside the court fence. It was my first time to play the lawn tennis. Afterwards, we swam in the swimming pool in one of the community facilities.

At the end of the day, I thought of the things I really wanted to do amidst the worries of life. I inspected my spiritual life and I wanted to grow with great desire for God. Not just that, ever since I went here in Manila, my eyes were opened about the reality of this world that keeps from telling me that I am not alone. The things I have witnessed and experienced the whole weekend gave me courage and perseverance to continue pursuing my dreams to make it into a reality.
