Knowing My Parents

When I started to read a book about relationships, an author mentioned "The Book of Myself: A Do-It Yourself Autobiography". I have been looking forward to books like this so I started to browse its contents. I loved the sample questions and wanted to buy a copy but it is not yet available in kindle version so I sent a message to the publisher to make it available. In my mind, I thought of giving this to my parents who I never get the real whole story of their life. I seldom talked to them about their early, middle and current lives. This is not only for me to learn and understand from them but for future generations also.

Just early this afternoon, I went to a bookstore at the local area and tried to find the book but it is not also available. I have decided to visit sometime this month on bookstores in Manila area just to purchase this. Maybe through this book, I will get to know my parents better.

Movie After Work

After a hectic Friday at work, we watched a movie starred by high school friends who gained superpowers that turned out to be bad. I needed to be refreshed because that day, I had to finish my aged FAs for our company's 1st quarter has just ended. I even had to write two reports and contact our CQE before I hit the sack.

Though I did not enjoy well the movie, I was thrilled going along with office friends, real friends -- for some of them. The idea of sitting next to them whom we trust makes me at ease and the time spent with them is worthwhile. To add, the great conversations about life experiences and future plans were shared over our pizza dinner.

I also get to record my project video for one of the elective subjects I am currently taking. Thanks to them who participated in the narrative film I am making.

Stay

I have a flight for Iloilo before sunrise tomorrow. It is supposed to be a Dinagyang weekend but when I bought the tickets, I only assumed the dates for the said event so I missed the festival last week. But Mac, who bought the same ticket schedule as mine, will carry on this planned travel.

I chose to stay. I preferred not to go home this month so early after the Christmas and New Year's vacation even if I miss everyone back at home. I am already used to this feeling. From the start, I have been separating myself to abate the wanting for their presence. I can survive the long months away from home. Maybe years too.

Feast in Lipa

Last Friday night, we went at Joey's home in Lipa for their fiesta. I enjoyed the sumptuous dinner served for us. I love the taste of their beef Teriyaki Batangas style.

And again for the fifth time, we stayed there until the next day. We had fun playing on PSP3 the games NBA, Street Fighter IV, and Table Tennis in the morning. My right shoulder suffers from pain right now due to physical simulation of the Table Tennis game.

We visited the Lipa Cathedral Church and Marian Orchard in the afternoon.

I never entered a gigantic cathedral before and that was a great experience. The inside walls and ceiling of the cathedral were painted with embossed-effect church arts. I also observed paintings of prophets from the Old testament that were hanged on side walls. The pews were long and well-maintained.

Marian Orchard is perfect for meditation. Its serene and idyllic view brought me back to nature and kept me close to God with a short silent prayer of thanksgiving. The cool and fresh air blown me away, away from the busy work life in Cavite.

We concluded the day by stopping by at a lomi house. Once again, we tasted the Batangas' lomi which is thick in sauce and rich in flavor.

Passion for Learning

I just remembered that I started writing on this blog when I joined ADI almost four years ago. It was back then when we we're so much excited on our first job. Everything is new. We're new engineers and came fresh from college. We're the first batch of NCG program.

Right now, I'm trying to relive or rekindle my passion for learning. As much as possible I yearn to enjoy everything I do in the company.

I still enjoy being in the office. I communicate with friends, do things I love, yet I look forward for a brighter future. Lights on please!
